The Board has an important role in school strategic planning and guidance (including budget setting) as well as some policy ratification within the school. It doesn’t have an operational role and should not be confused with the P&C, which is a parent forum.

After receiving hundreds of messages of thanks and appreciation from parents, students and the community for teachers and staff in public schools, one teacher has been voted The People’s Pick for 2017, our Maths teacher Mr Josh Barker . He was recognised by his Year 9 student Dean Morris who wrote a poem about “super inventive” Mr Barker.

Congratulations to two Melville Senior High School students who achieved fantastic results in the Rottnest Channel Swim.
Three students have been awarded an Assured Entry for Graduate Medicine at UWA: Anatalisha Finn, Sahil Pradhan and Himara Kahandawela. They will study an undergraduate degree for three years and then are assured of a place in the Medical graduate program. Very few students are accepted like this at 18.

The NXTwins EVolv3, won first place in the Open Dance category at the RoboCup Junior Australia national competition last month.
