Melville SHS Blitzes the ATAR

< Back to News

Jane Song received the fifth highest result in the state with an ATAR of 99.95 and became the second highest state school student behind the Beazley Medal winner. She is heading off to study a Bachelor of Biomedicine with an assured pathway to Medicine at the University of Melbourne.

Jane was a Gifted and Talented student  and put her success down to her amazing teachers. She said she was very proud to have received the results with no external paid tutoring or private tuition. Jane received a subject Exhibition in Mathematical Methods, a Certificate of Excellence in Chemistry and Maths and got 100% in three of her subjects.

Mathematics was a strong suit for most of the Melville SHS top achievers**** and Jane Song, Owen Stanley, Ruth Bucad, Paul Omodunbi, Neisha Phipps and Obada Al Quran all did well at Mathematics with the help of teachers, especially Mathematical Methods teacher Mrs Hilary Browton. Jane received the Mathematical Methods Subject Exhibition (highest exam mark) and Owen received a Certificate of Excellence in Mathematical Methods and an ATAR of 99.30.

Brittany Sanders received the Subject Exhibition for Health Studies and an ATAR of 97.55.
