Melville SHS Public School Review – Exceptional
The Department of Education Public School Accountability directorate reviews all public schools in Western Australia over a one, three or five-year time frame. Each school’s performance is determined through a self-assessment submission and then validated by a review team visit. A wide cross section of staff, students and community members had the ability to meet with the review team and discuss Melville SHS performance as judged against six domains that form the Public School Review Standard. A review gives assurance to the local community, the Minister of Education and the Director General about the performance of the public school.
We are delighted to note that in the latest review, conducted in April 2024, Melville SHS has been recognised as exceptional in each of the six (6) domains below. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our entire school community.
- Relationships and partnerships
- Learning environment
- Leadership
- Use of resources
- Teaching quality
- Student achievement and progress
Our next Public School Review is scheduled for a five-year return for 2029 — the longest return time a school can be given. While this is a very pleasing confirmation of what we do at Melville SHS, we never stop striving to provide the best possible education to all of our students.
