Our House System

The introduction of our new house names and artwork have been met with excitement. Our new house names of Booyi, Kwilena, Weijt and Yonka remind our students that strength comes in many forms, whether through endurance, agility, teamwork, or quiet resilience - as they carry these values forward in sport and in life.
Our four faction designs, created by Noongar Artist Noelene Regan, celebrate the deep connection between people, place and story on Noongar Boodjar. Each artwork represents a borrungur (totemic) animal that embodies the spirit of its faction.

Students earn points for their allocated house via participation in sports, extra-curricular activities, competitions and commendable behaviour.  With term prizes for the winning house, competition heats up between the houses and students are engaged in earning points for their house.

Booyi

Western Snake-Necked Turtle – Green Faction
A symbol of patience, perseverance and balance, navigating between land and water with purpose.

Kwilena

Dolphin – Blue Faction
A symbol of intelligence, teamwork, and movement, swimming through Doontanboro (Melville Waters) and reminding us of the importance of connection and shared learning.

Weitj

Emu – Yellow Faction
A Symbol of endurance, adaptability and wisdom, leaving footprints that represent the journey of growth and learning.

Yonka

Kangaroo – Red Faction
A symbol of strength, determination, and forward motion, encouraging students to take bold steps on their path.

 

The interconnected circles and pathways in each design reflect the school boundary, symbolising the shared journey of students, teachers, and the school community. Together, these designs honour the enduring presence of Noongar culture, reminding us that the stories, knowledge, and spirit of Boodjar continue to guide and inspire future generations.
