Academic Support

Academic and targeted support is available for students identified as requiring extra help with their academic studies.

Support can be accessed via our Teaching and Learning team or subject teachers.

At Home Learning – Revision and Homework

The amount of homework or study varies according to year level.

Activities can include completing tasks assigned in lessons, assessment writing or projects related to topics covered in class, and revision for tests and examinations.

When students are not assigned homework, they use time to revise course work using learning strategies taught through study skills.

Learning Support

A dedicated Learning Support Coordinator provides support to parents and teachers of children with diagnosed or identified learning needs.

Literacy and Numeracy Support

Specialist teachers experienced at working with students with literacy and or numeracy difficulties work in the classroom to help build capability in literacy and numeracy teaching, and through individual or small groups to bridge gaps in student learning.

Seminars

Seminars for parents and carers are held at various times of the year and are focused on support for students at home.

Study Skills

We deliver programs and strategies that help students organise, absorb, retain and recall information effectively.

Students receive information through:

• After school workshops
• Connect and Teams (Info Bites)
• Individual and small group support
• Micro lessons
• Year group assemblies.

Tutoring

Learning areas host study and homework classes after school for students in Year 7 to 10.

Specialist subject tutoring is available to students in Year 11 and 12.

Student Services are located at the front of the school to the right of the Administration Building and the Main Office entrance.

Select staff are also trained to identify and support student health, and mental, and physical wellbeing.
